Nutrition Rehabilitation and Malnutrition Prevention

Food Security

To sustain food security and good nutrition at the household level, we encourage and support productive food security strategies through a hybrid production mechanism involving animal production, kitchen gardens as we as caregiver savings and lending groups.

School Health Clubs
We are what we eat. With the rising prevalence of lifestyle diseases, we intend to nature healthy lifestyle from an early age that promotes healthy eating and physical activity for a healthy generation. We nature young nutrition ambassadors through Health clubs in their families and amongst peers.
Growth Monitoring and Promotion.
We are keen on Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition. Through our continuous nutrition assessment, we identify cases of malnutrition and intervene through home-based nutrition solutions using e.g, Multiple Micronutrient Powder(MAMA MICROMIX) for household food fortification, targeted supplementary feeding programs and menu demonstrations as a sustainable approach e.g, PD/Hearth sessions.
Child Survival Training
We offer health and nutrition education to caregivers on responsive child care and adherence to mother and child welfare clinics as a way of promoting Integrated Management of Childhood Infections. We train the lead mothers and CHVs as ToTs who in turn reach out to the mothers in the community through care group model approach and at the household level.
Mother and Child Health
In order to alleviate maternal and infant morbidity and mortality, we promote health seeking behavior and facilitate mothers to access prenatal and postnatal care clinics through our Community Health Promoters and linked facilities. In so doing we ensure prevention of malnutrition during the first 1000 days, the critical window of opportunity for optimum nutrition to ensure children achieve their full potential.
